![]() ![]() There is a discussion board and I highly recommend utilizing this and ask the professor as many questions as you can. ![]() You are given a ton of previous exams so you can practice and some of the questions are reused (obviously some may have the numbers changed) but you'll quickly start to realize that there is a huge overlap every semester so I definitely recommend going over as many practice exams as you can. The tests themselves are very manageable. They really tested to see if you grasped the concept instead of just learning how to plug in numbers as you had to explain your answers. Labs (at least for me) were the hardest part of the class. Quizzes are also very similar to the homework problems so if you understand the homework you will do fine on the quizzes. For some people who take that class its the first time theyve ever been exposed to those ideas. Youll learn 'about' hygiene theory, but you wont directly be doing anything with hygiene or hygiene theory itself. The homework is pretty straightforward if you follow the examples given. Thats also a 101 level class which means its just a survey class. The pacing is a little slower at parkland than at U of I but the professor is great (Assuming it's Shoaf). It's probably been removed by the overzealous reddit spam filter. To answer your other question, you need to do 101 or equivalent before 102. I then took phys 325, and while it was tough, thoroughly enjoyed it because it was my first real physics course. I was in the first phys 225 course and enjoyed it because of the instructors that taught it at that time. The phys 211-214 courses werent tough to me. Not to mention it’s less than half the price. I chose to take phys 211 to start where most other people did. So much easier/less work and you can do it on your own time or get ahead if you want to. Not entirely sure how they do PHYS 121 at Parkland, but I would imagine that it would be similar to 141, 142, and 143. Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Townies are all welcome.
